Maria Candida Gentile is one of the most famous and esteemed international noses, the creator of bespoke perfumes for celebrities such as Madonna and H.R.H. Caroline of Monaco, as well as for some of the most stunning hotels and resorts up and down Italy.
The very first woman and Italian to be accepted into the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, Maria Candida discovered her special talent when she was just a child, but it was only later in life, when she was living in Valle D’Aosta ,that she developed her special talents, thanks to a special encounter.

As a child, Maria Candida Gentile macerated rose petals in her garden and made rose water to give as gifts. Growing up, she instinctively taught herself to interpret scents and reproduce them in childhood games.
The olfactory creativity continued alongside an extensive and restless classical education and an intense artistic curiosity. The decision to become a maitre profumeur was the cherry on the cake.
Each of Maria Candida Gentile’s perfumes has a story to tell, developing intuitively around the themes of memories, places, plentitudes and artistic evocations.

Maria Candida Gentile’s creative process is intrinsically linked to perception, the nose, the deep essence that is intuition.
This is developed and polished and created in the form of perfume notes, with a pioneering conceptual vision that binds together the art of traditional perfumery, creating naturally, mindfully macerating alongside visionary experimental projects.
