Private Atelier
OLFACTORY COMPOSITION ATELIER
The Private Atelier is a limited-access advanced program created to offer a select group of participants access to my methodology of perfume composition. It provides direct access to a real creative process, designed for those who wish to develop, through active participation, their own sensitivity and creative approach.
Matter. Time. Listening. Choices.This advanced program is intended for those who already have experience working with raw materials and wish to deepen their compositional practice. It is not an introductory course.
A methodology cannot be explained: it must be experienced.
Access is by application and strictly limited, in order to ensure quality, attention, and a meaningful exchange throughout the program. The program takes place online and is open to international participants, in both Italian and English.
Applications will be open until April 20th.
The Private Atelier will take place from Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, June 19, 2026. Another session will be held in October, on a date to be determined.
The rhythm of creation
The creative process is not an idea: it is a rhythm.
Twice a year, I will guide you through a real working process. You will enter into the material, follow a shared olfactory direction, listen, and have the opportunity to ask questions along the way.
Each session will begin with an initial suggestion shared with all participants: a common starting point from which the work will unfold.
From this shared suggestion, I will compose my own formula, following what emerges throughout the process — impressions, intuitions, resonances. At the same time, you will develop, through practice, your own personal interpretation.
At the end of each session, you will have developed a work of your own and, in addition, you will receive the perfume I created during that process, in a signed 100 ml format.
Listening and interpretation
For each session, you will receive a structured working brief: an initial suggestion and the compositional direction of the work. You will receive a kit prepared specifically to interpret the formula of the session: approximately 18 notes in 15 ml bottles, already diluted in alcohol, together with the necessary tools for experimentation, including pipettes and small bottles.
The program is supported by a recorded video in which I guide the listening process: the evolution of the notes, their olfactory vibrations, and the relationships between the materials. You will also receive a composition diary containing my working notes – emotional, synesthetic, and intuitive that you will find on the dedicated platform. You will work with the materials following the brief. When sharing your work, you will also include your impressions arising from the initial suggestion; based on this, I will guide you in refining and correcting your process, working on both emotional interpretation and compositional structure. For eight weeks from the beginning of the session, you will have access every Wednesday morning to a dedicated discussion space. In addition, on Wednesday afternoons, you may book a one-to-one session with Maria Candida Gentile in 45-minute slots.

The Private Atelier is dedicated to those who wish to enter my world with attention, listening, and active participation.
Access is by application and intentionally limited. Each request is carefully reviewed, and an initial selection identifies those whose sensitivity and approach are most aligned with the nature of the program.
Selected candidates will be invited to a preliminary conversation — a direct exchange, essential to understand whether this work can truly be shared.
Only after this step is access to the Private Atelier confirmed.

The Private Atelier is a limited-access advanced program that offers entry into my creative methodology, allowing participants to further develop their own. It is not a traditional course, but a guided experience based on materials, direction, and direct exchange.
Laboratorio Privato is a master class designed for advanced students who are already familiar with raw materials and wish to deepen their olfactory language through a personal and guided creative journey
Admission is by application. Participants are selected on the basis of their background, previous experience, and personal motivation.
Selected candidates will be notified by the date indicated in the official announcement.
Once admitted, each participant receives access to a personal and private area on the platform. At this stage, a thirty-minute one-to-one meeting with Maria Candida Gentile is scheduled to introduce the structure of the course and explain how to access the materials.
Within the platform, participants will find the brief, PDFs, videos, and inspirational content. Based on the brief, each participant will receive 15 ml perfumes and the raw materials necessary to develop their project.
After receiving the materials and absorbing the brief, each participant will take part in an initial individual 45-minute session with Maria Candida Gentile, marking the practical beginning of the work.
Yes. The program is conceived as an ad personam experience and continues every Wednesday for its entire duration through individual 45-minute sessions, scheduled by appointment between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
The course combines individual study with direct guidance. Based on the brief, each participant progressively develops their own olfactory project under the supervision of Maria Candida Gentile.
The program takes place every Wednesday over a period of approximately one and a half months.
Each selected participant will gain access to a personal and private online class containing the brief, videos, and supporting materials. In addition, they will receive 15 ml perfumes and a kit of approximately 18 raw materials, already diluted in alcohol at different concentrations.
Maria Candida Gentile personally analyses and refines each composition, guiding participants in balancing accords and achieving harmony, roundness, and refinement.
